The sunny nature of citrus oils is certainly the reason why people in northern countries are so drawn to aromatherapy, especially during the long winter months. The all-round oil pressed out of the peel is said to improve the ability to concentrate. It also brings a good mood and exudes joie de vivre. It is often used as a room spray because of its fresh scent and disinfecting effect. For a diffuser blend that lets you feel the joys of summer again, mix 2 drops of the oil with 2 drops of sweet orange.

About the plant

One of the main growing areas of lemons is in Sicily. There the rhombus experiences the climate that gives the fruit its fragrant, fresh, tangy note. Due to its high vitamin C content of 53 mg per 100 g, it is often squeezed and drunk in a glass with water or tea in the morning. The pinene content in lemons is particularly high. This in turn is known for its immune-boosting effect.
